Information Visitors Provide
Search Entries
When a visitor types a name, location, or similar detail into a search tool, that entry is sent to the third-party provider operating the tool. This site does not keep its own log of those search terms.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to review it, respond, and manage follow-up. It is not shared outside the organization unless a legal requirement makes disclosure necessary.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard technical information may be recorded when pages load, including:
- IP address.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
- Referring website, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand how visitors move through the site. A browser can be set to block cookies, although some features or measurements may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, stable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the partner service selected by the visitor.
- To understand which Travis County jail, court, and facility pages are useful.
- To diagnose technical problems, broken links, or security issues.
- To display advertising that may be relevant to visitor interests.
Outside Links and Public Records
This site links to jail rosters, sheriff and corrections pages, Texas public-record resources, federal locators, court portals, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the privacy policy of the destination site controls. Government records linked from these pages may be handled under laws such as the Texas Public Information Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 552, along with any exceptions that apply to law-enforcement or confidential records.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites for interest-based ads. That tracking occurs through the partner's technology and policies, not through a public-record request process on this site.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold by this site. It may be available to limited parties that help operate the site or respond to lawful demands:
- Search partners that process search terms entered into their tools.
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law-enforcement agencies, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security Practices
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information handled through the site. No internet-connected service can be promised as breach-proof, and this notice does not guarantee absolute security.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted personal information, a request may be made to remove it from site-controlled records.
Privacy Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal information held by this site.
- Request correction of information believed to be wrong.
- Ask that site-controlled personal information be deleted.
- Opt out of certain processing where an opt-out right applies.
